About Eunoia Skin - Our Story, Mission and Team

Inspired by Cyprus's beauty & heritage

Founder's Story

Eunoia Skin was founded by Stephanie Violari, who has always prioritised skincare as a way of self-care. Stephanie's journey to founding this company was anything but linear. Building a beauty brand was always in the back of her mind, and at 14, it seemed like the most achievable thing in the world, but adulthood hit her with a harsh reality check. Stephanie moved to England from Cyprus to study Chemistry, as she thought it would be the most appropriate first step towards her dream. However, she didn't account for a global pandemic during her studies, homesickness and the loss of a dear friend, completely shattering her mental health.  Despite that, she still graduated with first-class honours and yet felt like an imposter. Her imposter syndrome was so bad that she took job rejections very personally. Even though her life and well-being were a hot mess, she decided to stay in England and push through. She ended up working in sales in dead-end jobs to make ends meet. A couple of years post-graduation had passed, and she found herself more lost than ever; everyone was moving forward, and she was stuck. She was petrified to admit (even to herself) that all she wanted to do was build a beauty brand. Skincare and makeup were always her escape and a form of self-care that always improved her mood. She wanted to create a brand to make others feel comfortable in their own bodies and uniqueness, and she was tired of seeing how overwhelming the industry had become with 10-step skincare routines that nobody actually needs, and the promotion of overconsumption. But, she thought, attempting something like this would be impossible. Then one dayjust shy of her 25th birthday, she decided to go to a networking event in London. She did a 5-hour round trip, but that event changed everything. She met incredible founders and business owners, and she realised that many of them (on paper) weren't as qualified as she was. But the difference between them and her? They just decided to start and figure it out as they go. That was a pivotal moment for Stephanie, and on the train home, she launched her business with just £4,000, which was her life savings. Once she started her business, there was no stopping her. She still had to keep her 9-5 to stay afloat, but she decided she would go after her dream and have the audacity to keep dreaming bigger and bigger. And she encourages everyone else to do the same, because we get one life after all.

Eunoia (εύνοια) in Greek means graceful or beautiful thinking. Be your graceful, imperfect self. That's what I want to achieve with this brand. In a world where 10-step skincare routines are encouraged, how we think about ourselves matters; there is grace and beauty in less.
